Consultations

Our mission is for you to feel comfortable with your therapist before proceeding. This is a half-hour free consultation to meet your therapist to determine whether you feel comfortable proceeding with therapy. It is also a time to ask questions about the process or the therapist's services.

I have over 9 years of experience in the fields of mental health and substance use. I am in ongoing supervision and have worked with many mentors, healers, and therapists over the years. I have sat in the client’s seat and understand what it takes to make that choice to change.

I moved to Vancouver from Hungary when I was 19 to study psychology and eventually become a therapist. I always felt that there could be more truth, more compassion, more understanding between people. I always strive to meet clients where they are at, and look for meaning and direction in suffering. I believe that therapy can help you look at life’s problems from different angles, and discover the truth and the hope that can be found in them. Let’s walk that road together.

MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

Whether you are looking to heal old wounds, deal with a present crisis, or want to change something about yourself, there may be something that I can offer you. My approach involves compassionate care and deep listening and taking what you say seriously. This helps us clarify your problems and figure out what you need to change in your life.

The most important thing in therapy is trust. In a trusting alliance, we may find healing, speak the truth, and find the courage to change. Clients generally find me grounded, trustworthy, and a safe and attentive, compassionate presence.

FOCUS & ORIENTATION

My approach can be beneficial if you suffer from depression and anxiety, have suffered trauma, or are struggling with relationships or family dynamics. I have experience in working with survivors of abuse and men who strive to develop a healthier sense of masculinity. I worked extensively with clients who deal with substance use, psychosis, and disordered eating. I am registered with ICBC and provide counselling to clients who suffered motor vehicle accidents.

My work with couples is grounded in the belief that clarity and courage bring change. We work to name the real problems, speak the truth when we see it and find ways and practices that can change your relationship for the better. My approach to couples is grounded in Relational Life Therapy, while my individual work is informed by the radical therapeutic approach of R.D. Laing and others.
