We practice approaches that reflect principles that are relational, embodied, experiential, and non-pathologising. We welcome and respect diversity and acknowledge the impact of a system that discriminates against those that it sees as less than, unworthy, and un-entitled to succeed. We endeavour to create a safe space where you can reflect, learn and heal. We will listen deeply and help you to slow down to better understand all parts of you on a journey towards wholeness. This kind of tuning in can help you in every type of relationship, including with yourself, family, children, partners, friends, and colleagues.

All Couples and relationships are welcome. We have experience in non-traditional relationships such as polyamory and open relationships. Our therapists are trained in a number of approaches including, Relational Life Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Developmental Couples Therapy. We provide an initial session that is longer to give a fuller exploration of both partner's experiences and identify the difficulties that you want to change. We believe that relationship difficulties often stem from patterns that were learned in the past as a means of coping. We will help you identify the negative strategies you have adopted that leave partners disconnected and teach you new skills to create the real connection you desire.

In therapy, we focus on creating a safe environment where you can eventually be vulnerable with one another and support each other's growth and healing.

My approach to therapy is quite simple. Most difficulties arise between people, not within them. When our interactions with our environment are troubled, we feel troubled. We are affected by each other. Harms that come to us through relationships can continue to echo in our lives until we find someone who will listen and care as we unburden our heart about what happened. When we can precisely grieve those losses in the safety and privacy of the therapeutic relationship, we may find our stuck places give way to more personal and relational freedom, vitality and courage.

PLEASE NOTE: Sessions with counselling interns cannot be claimed back with extended health providers

I see your pain, and I see your resilience. I see the light in you - it may have been dimmed, but not extinguished. I’ve been where you are. I know the pain of losing myself and staying in a lie. I know how scary it is to disappoint others, to risk dreaming of a different life.

But I also know how empowering it is to finally break free from the ‘security’ of our straight jackets. AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic psychotherapy) taught me to trust my heart again. Healing my own childhood traumas and insecure attachment patterns, helped me liberate my inner light and live a life of fierce authenticity. I would love that for you too.

My Therapeutic Approach:

Emotions profoundly shape our identity, fuelling vitality, authenticity, resilience, and integrity-qualities we need to thrive in life. However, trauma, neglect, abuse, loss, and oppression often lead us to bury emotions, resent competent facades to cope, and ignore formative experiences that undermine our relationships, work life, and communities. This is a recipe for depression, anxiety, and other forms of unhappiness.

Drawing from extensive training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and my personal experience in therapy I deeply believe that talking alone doesn’t suffice for sustainable change. Healing requires addressing the emotions and the body and resolving emotional memories that keep us tied to the past.

My objective is to work together to bring you relief—to feel better in ways that will “stick”, in the least amount of time needed. Unlike traditional approaches, I prioritize facilitating new emotional and new relational experiences to resolve core issues, enabling you to move forward unburdened and achieve desired life and relationship outcomes.

AEDP, an empathic and engaged approach to therapy, is my main focus in fostering new healing experiences. Drawing from mindfulness, attachment theory, and interpersonal neurobiology, I create a safe space for transformative emotional work, informed by the latest psychological and neuroscientific research.

Working with individual clients and couples - ONLINE SESSIONS ONLY

As a counsellor, I see my role as a guide or midwife. I understand the counselling relationship as a sort of journey together to a place where you can discover your true self, the person who always exists underneath the effects of trauma and struggle. I will walk beside you on this journey and help keep you safe. I will listen deeply, be curious about your experience, and genuine in our relationship.

I believe that a great deal of change can happen when we are able to have compassion and care for ourselves, a sense of connection with our bodies and the sensations that live there, and the ability to both understand how and why we become threatened and also notice and relax into the safety that exists in the present moment. These things are all skills that can be learned and developed with practice. It’s never too late to claim these as your own.
